WHAT IS THE GIRLS’ BRIGADE?
The Girls’ Brigade (GB) is a Christian, international, voluntary organisation providing a regular meeting time for activities for girls & young women.
All our leaders are trained in youth work and at 1st Larkfield we have an impressive range of skills, so we can all do what we’re good at whether it be cooking, running games, crafts, organising camps or dealing with admin and paperwork.
We are affiliated to Kent County Council and have all the experience and qualifications you’d expect us to have to run a great youth organisation, and we have all been CRB checked.
At GB we seek to enable girls & young women to develop in confidence, ability, friendship & citizenship & are committed to nurturing the unique value of each and every girl in our care.
WHAT DO WE DO?
At 1st Larkfield we try to do as many different things and have as much fun as possible. We meet on Monday nights during term time & are split into 4 age groups.
Activities:
The girls work towards badges & gain awards for each year that they attend GB. We
also do loads of activities such as games, crafts, singing & learning bible stories.
We get involved with other local GB companies for events like picnics, ice-
Church:
We encourage all our members and their families to come to church. There are activities organised for all ages of young people by the church and we have lively family services once a month. We have church parades about once a month. However, you are not excluded from GB if you do not attend church.
